Yes, a coupon is just a code that the customer can enter during an order.

It might give either a fixed discount (eg $10) or a percentage discount. And it might be reusable (eg if it were for printing in a magazine you'd want many users to be able to use that code), or it might be single-use.

Normally you'd want a multiple-use coupon to be a percentage value... if it was a fixed value I might be able to break my order up into 2 or 3 orders, and get the fixed discount on each one - with a percentage discount it makes no difference.

I want to offer a free gift voucher for purchases over X amount. I think I should be using a voucher code so that the user can claim the gift voucher amount on the next purchase. Any better ideas?
