We have been asked a few times by customers how can they change their account email address. Obviously the email address is unique for each account but could there be a way to implement this in a future release?

The store admin can change the email address of a customer from the back end. This also checks that it is not already in use on the site (to avoid ending up with two accounts with the same email).

Having this as something the store owner does for customers is probably a better solution as its unlikely to be something that sites will have do very often, and there are some issues if this could be done by users without any store admin oversight.

The process would need to be quite complicated. It would be necessary to have some kind of reconfirmation of the new account email address, similar to that when a user signs up to the mailing list. Otherwise it would be possible to sign up to the mailing list, confirm your membership and then change the account to have messages sent to an email address you did not own (either intentionally or accidentally). Obviously aside from the need to add these systems into kartris, it might prove unintuitive and complicated for customers, so the store owner might well end up having to do it for customers anyway.

Ah OK, thanks Paul. I did not know that we could change users emails in the back end.
