I'm pretty sure if you make an edit (by FTP) to the web.config that the application will restart anyway.

A decent host should provide website/application pool start/stop functionality as standard - some even provide the facility to do this remotely rather than logging into your hosting account "control panel".If not, and you couldn't get into the admin area, then you'd probably have to wait until the application pool recycled itself, which might be 24hrs+ OR as you say, contact your hosting provider and ask them to.

Thx a lot, it worked! And if I was hosted by a remote provider what would I have to do? Ask to provider a reboot of my website?

Easiest method, if you can, is to stop and restart the website and application pool, to force the reload of config values.

Exploring Kartris, I tried to activate SSL navigation changing general.security.ssl config setting as described in K's User Guide. My website is dead... user and admin side now try to use https but browser receives this error ssl_error_rx_record_too_long... so I entered K's database, entered [tblKartrisConfig] table and restored manually the CFG_value to 'n' in general.security.ssl record. But still browser try to use https protocol and website is 'dead'.... what have I to do to return to previous setting?
