I'm trying to resize the pictures using css and also the confifig settings.

My problem is that whatever I do the pictures always seem to be placed in a square place holder. Where do I change the settings to fix this?

Here's the page I'm working on. I've made the colours bright so that I can see the css zones.

You can see how the image placeholder (in red) is square. I want to make it rectangular so that the image fills the main blue area.

Any ideas anyone

Has anyone got a website where they are displaying images in a rectangle placeholder?

I am trying to display product images that measure 1 x 3 in proportion.

Anything I do on Kartirs seems to assume that my images are square. If I change the backend settings for the image placeholder size I just get a square place holder. This results in a lot of emptry space around my images.

I am upgrading from cactushop, the system where image sizes where more straight-forward for me to understand. I'm wondering if Kartris, because it uses the one source image as the basis for its thumbnails etc, if it has limitations regarding proportions.

Has anyone else been successful in the presentation of rectangular images.
