We use product versions extensively, as we sell many different colours of the same paint.
How do we set up a promotion that allows a customer to get a £5 discount if they choose 6 tins of any colour (that is, any version of a specific product)?
So far we have hit a brick wall:
- An X of P promotion only applies to products without versions, it doesn't apply when the customer chooses 6 of different versions of one product
- An X of V promotion only applies to a single version of one product but we need it to apply to any version
- An X of C promotion only applies to products in a category
Help, please

We haven't received any response from anyone on this simple issue, so I'm bumping it. We're getting desperate.

"Buy X of P" works as "buy any version of this product". A product won't show up in the front end if it doesn't have at least one "live" version.
