Really need to run Product Attributes as hyperlink for following reasons:
1. Link through the PDF manual about the product. 2. Run the Kartris site as an affilaite site itself so can sell say iPods and then run in catalogue mode with a 'Buy Now' attributes pushing users over to Apple.

Not sure attributes would be the best place for this functionality.
1. For the PDF download, I think the new media extensions in v1.2 would handle this as you can have PDFs as downloadable media for each product.
2. If you were running in catalogue mode, then presumably you'd need one link from the product to the Apple store, for example. This could be just coded as HTML within the product description field. You could even apply a style or CSS class to highlight the link more prominently.
Attributes are primarily intended to be name-value pairs to hold comparable information on different products, for example a book might be:
Author - J R Hartley Publisher - XYZ Books ISBN - 123456789 Format - Hardback
Attributes can also be searchable too, so you can find books by ISBN for example, or search for a particular author. For technical products, the attributes can show up in product comparison, so you can easily compare the specs of two or more items.
